SoulSkank – New Location Parts and Labour

We’ve moved! But nothing has really changed… Its still the best Soul, Funk, Rockers, Ska dance party in the city brought to you by DJ Gramera(Stolen Souls, CHRY 105.5) and yours truly Dennis P(Northern Soul Horns) on the sax. Okay there is one small change beyond the most obvious, DJ Double K(Parkdale Funk, CIUT 89.5) has now OFFICIALLY joined the SoulSkank team.

The first night at the new digs takes place on Friday, May 4th, 2012. Treat this like an art exhibit opening or the first day at a new job. The point is don’t miss it! as always its gonna be wild! wild! WILD!

It’s our One Year Anniversary!

It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a year since we started this little all vinyl 50s and 60s Rhythm & Blues party. We’ve played with many themes and we’re planning on throwing many more theme parties in the years to come.

However, this time we’re bringing it back to that dirty, raunchy, greasy, stripped down Rhythm & Blues that we love! Back to the sound that started it all! Expect to hear the best R&B from the 7″ 45 rpm vinyl collections of Splattermonkey, General Eclectic and Double K (Parkdale Funk) all night!
We’re also gonna’ be giving away a special One Year Anniversary CD mixed by the Shindig! residents, Splattermonkey, General Eclectic and Double K (Parkdale Funk)!

SoulSkank 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

The one year is officially in the books and what a night! Thanks to everyone who made it out. We will do it all again tomorrow at the Piston! Hopefully this time around Captain Boogaloo will make an appearance.

Shindig! is about the music. That sweet sweet 50′s and 60s R&B music that just makes you throw your hands up and dance! Which is why we choose to play it all from original 7″ 45 rpm records and why we are holding this party the DAY BEFORE NEW YEARS EVE! It’s also why everyone loves this party so much! Especially the Ladies. Our Facebook page statistics prove it! 58% Female and 41% Male and 1% ..um… maybe transgender? Not sure. Don’t care. Shindig! doesn’t judge. So what do we do?
