SoulSkank 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

The one year is officially in the books and what a night! Thanks to everyone who made it out. We will do it all again tomorrow at the Piston! Hopefully this time around Captain Boogaloo will make an appearance.

So what do we do? Simple… grab Mr. Parkdale Funk himself Double K(Shindig, Cold Sweat, 89.5 fm) and team him with one of the baddest female assassins out there Ms. Brittney Townson(Bangs&Blush, Shake, Rattle and Roll, Fuck it) In the end you get two dance floor aces killing you with all that Soul, Funk, R&B, Motown and Stax!

SOULSKANK HOLIDAY EDITION

Happy Holidays to you and yours tis the season ya? Its either Merry or Dreary times. Some people love the holiday season because its a chance to express how much you love those around you others hate it because you can never find the right thing to get that special someone. I hear both sides it ain’t the easiest time of year but it most certainly is a time to drink, be merry and party.

Which brings me more to the point THIS FRIDAY NIGHT at the Piston its SoulSkank…!! DJ Gramera and the wax and me Dennis P on the sax ushering in the holiday cheer in one night of the most amazing Soul, Funk, Rockers, Ska, Northern Soul, Motown and Dancehall. If you were lucky enough to make it out to last months I’m sure you will agree it was MASSIVE! Well we want to keep it movin’ so we’re bringing back DJ Double K who is a dance floor assassin!

Soul Power is back!

The April edition of Soul Power is going to be the craziest event to date for sure! I’m very happy to announce that this month’s guest is the mighty Dennis P(Northern Soul Horns)! For the first time at Soul Power the special guest is not a DJ but one of the most talented saxophonist in the city. From playing with the Pocket Dwellers, Bedouin Soundclash and Ben Stevenson And The Wondertones I’m am extremely lucky to have such a talent grace the Starving Artist
