The Parkdale Funk Show is based out of Toronto Canada and is produced by DJ Double K. This groove controller will get you jumping with his bottomless selection of deep and heavy funk. His brand of neglected and forgotten soul and funk gems from the \’60s and \’70s is a true culinary feast for your ears. The site mainly focuses on soul, funk, jazz and reggae recordings that you are unlikely to hear anywhere else!
Starving Artist is once again proud to present Soul Power!
We got soul and we’re super bad! To prove this, Double K (Parkdale Funk) has an extra special guest for the February edition. Touching down on the decks is the mighty Well Said! A lot of you will know Well Said as the badass bass playing from Grand Analog and The Main Thing! This is going to be a serious night of heavy tunes and it’s not to be missed!
Oh are you in for a real treat today! Continuing with the Toronto Funk Series, The Parkdale Funk Show is very proud to present a live recording by The Main Thing!
The Main Thing is a deep funk soul ensemble from Toronto Canada that always delivers an amazing show. I’ve been lucky enough to be on the same bill as these guys so you can believe me when I say that they put on a show like no other in this city. The members of The Main Thing were kind enough to donate their last recording so I can spread their music to my loyal listeners. For more info on the band, please visit www.VintageSoul.ca and make sure to check out their FaceBook page.
